Cle Francis has spent most of his professional career as special feature writer, photographer and Western Editor of "Dog World" magazine. During his tenure at "Dog World", Cle produced numerous covers and award winning articles. Among his many accomplishments, he has been named "Writer of the Year" by the American Rare Breed Association and is most proud of his Commendation from Poland, presented by the Polish Ambassador for his efforts to obtain recognition in America of the indigenous Polish breeds: Polish Lowland Sheepdog and Chart Polski. Cle is the author of the acclaimed "Realm of the Autumn Dog" and has been honored to receive the "Maxwell", the most coveted award of achievement from the Dog Writers Association of America.

Cle Francis was the first to introduce the Polish Lowland Sheepdog to the American public in his photo and cover story about the breed in 1992, after a visit to the home of Kaz and Betty Augustowski in Maryland. He later produced the first and only video on the breed.
